Debate of NA Draft Statement to be Debated at Closed Sitting
1 / 9

At March 2, according to the decision made at the regular sitting, the National Assembly will debate the NA Draft Statement on Condemning the Policy of Azerbaijan on Impeding the Repatriation of Prisoners of War and Captive Civil Persons, including the Women being under the Control of Azerbaijan and Unnecessarily Delaying It authored by the NA deputies Taguhi Tovmasyan, Anna Grigoryan and Vardan Atabekyan in the closed sitting.

Update:

After the closed sitting Taguhi Tovmasyan presented the content of the statement text.

The RA National Assembly condemns the impeding of repatriation of prisoners of war, hostages and other persons being kept under control of Azerbaijan in the conditions of policy of Armenophobia and animosity organized in Azerbaijan and records that this absolute unacceptable behaviour of Azerbaijan of not returning the captives breaks the cornerstone provisions of the international humanitarian law, grossly violates the international obligations assumed by Azerbaijan, damaging the very essence of the modern international relations and endangering the attitude towards the international and regional systems of protection of human rights.

The RA National Assembly calls on all international structures, the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair countries, the international community and the international and regional human rights organizations to strictly assess and condemn the abovmentioned behaviour of Azerbaijan.
